Do you have questions about your rights as a renter?   

Has your rental unit been flooded?    

Statewide, in order to apply for assistance, renters and homeowners must reside in one of the Texas counties declared a disaster area and have damages resulting from the severe storms, tornadoes, straight line winds and flooding that occurred May 4 through June 19.  

To register with FEMA, residents can visit www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call 800-621-FEMA (3362). Disaster assistance applicants who have a speech disability or hearing loss and use TTY should call 800-462-7585 directly; for those who use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS), call 800-621-3362.

Contact the Houston Apartment Association at (713) 595-0300 on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to speak with a trained consultant to ask questions about renter rights and leases.  Your call will be taken on a first come, first served basis.
