Email     

 

Please be assured that HAA does not use any third parties for distribution of association-related emails. All official HAA emails will come to you from an @haaonline.org email address.  If you ever have any questions about an email you receive from HAA, feel free to call us at 713-595-0300.

Chat  

   

A member benefit was unveiled in September 2010 on the HAA website.  Thanks to software from HAA member company Contact At Once, if you have question, comment or issue, you can immediately chat with an HAA staff member through an instant message.    

     

To chat with an HAA staff member, just log-in on the HAA homepage. A log-in is required, because chats are only available to HAA members. Once a member is logged in, he can choose which department he would like to visit with by clicking on the link next to their department name. If a staff member from a department is unavailable, their phone number will appear instead of a chat icon.   

    

When a chat is initiated, a chat screen will appear:  

 
Simply click on the “Compose message here…” and begin typing your message.   Click on the “Send IM” button to send it.  If a staff member has stepped away from their desk and is unable to chat, after 90 seconds you will have the option of emailing them your message.
  

    

The chat option is available for the following departments:

  •  Member Services  
  •  Resident Relations  
  •  Special Events  
  •  Supplier Services  

The HAA staff is committed to providing outstanding customer service to members.  

    

Social Media Policy   

 

The term “Social Media Platforms” refers to HAA initiated groups, feeds, videos, channels, streams, events and other content on third-party social media sites.   

    

HAA may utilize social media platforms for communications with members.  In addition, these platforms may be opened for use by members in communications with each other.  HAA staff members will moderate content on the social media platforms.     

    

HAA desires an association that is free of harassment and sensitive to the diversity of our members. Therefore, we do not allow members to use social media platforms in ways that are disruptive, offensive to others, or harmful to morale.  

    

HAA does not allow posting of sexually explicit images, messages, and cartoons. Social media platforms may not be used for ethnic slurs, racial comments, or off-color jokes.   

    

HAA does not allow the unauthorized use, installation, copying, or distribution of copyrighted, trademarked, or patented material on social media platforms. 

   

HAA reserves the right to create any groups, pages or communities that bear the Houston Apartment Association name or any of its related committees or events.  Any HAA member or member companies should consult with HAA staff before creating such pages or events.    If such pages or events are created without approval, HAA may request that they be taken down.  

    

HAA’s social media platforms may not be used for the purpose of marketing one’s business in an overt fashion.  Any posting that is deemed to violate the Social Media Policy may be removed by site administrators.   

    

If you know about any violations to this policy, notify site administrators, HAA’s Executive Vice President or any member of management.   

    

HAA’s Blogs and other comment forums are subject to the Social Media Policy described above, with the following additional guidance:  

    

HAA’s Blog(s) should be used to promote HAA events, information about the industry, legislative advocacy, member involvement and other appropriate topics.  Postings reflect the attitudes and opinions of the person posting them, not HAA.  If any content is deemed to be objectionable, it may be removed by site administrators.     

    

All comments must be reviewed before posting.  If a comment is specific to a property or situation, it may or may not be posted.  The site administrator will make every effort to contact the person responsible for posting a comment, if he/she has any questions or the comment has been denied.
