Examination and Community Analysis Project
Candidates will sit for a comprehensive exam given at the completion of all course work; this date will be announced at the first class. A minmum passing score of 70% is required to attain the designation.
Students are also required to complete a Community Analysis project to receive the CAM designation. The analysis consists of examining an apartment community, reviewing each element that affects the community and defining the indicated steps that should be taken to refine/improve the operations of the community, both financially and operationally. Students are required to turn in the Community Analysis project prior to sitting for the comprehensive exam.

About the Instructor (Summer)
Instructor Bill Nye, Ph.D., has enjoyed a distinguished career combining property maintenance and management, military leadership, academia and professional development. A trainer and coach in the areas of maintenance development, team building, leadership, leasing and marketing, Nye has served the apartment profession since the mid-1990s. Nye was a highly decorated flight crew member for nine years in the United States Air Force. He graduated with honors from the prestigious Air Force Leadership School in Tokyo in 1987. Upon his discharge from active duty, Nye completed his education by earning a master's degree in industrial organization from the University of Maryland and a doctorate in social psychology from Duke University.

About the Instructor (Winter)
Rich George is the owner and managing director of NOI Coach, a business coaching, consulting and training firm based in Michigan. A successful business person and published author with over 20 years of business experience, Rich brings a no-nonsense approach to strategic planning and a passion for employee development and culture building. Rich's background includes the management of over two billion dollars of real-estate assets, and over 50 million dollars of capital re-investment strategies. Rich has been involved with successful acquisitions, dispositions, merger facilitation, and repositions. Rich attended Wayne State University and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker. He was recognized as one of the first graduates of the NAA Leadership Lyceum, is a current faculty member and has received the honor of the CAPS designation as well as the ARM designation.
