In order to ensure that all designates are kept abreast of the constant changes and new information within the multi-family industry, designates are required to obtain CECs (Continuing Education Credits) to further their education and involvement within the industry.
The CEC requirements are listed below by designation. Each credit is equivalent to one classroom hour of instruction.
CAM: 6 CECs
CAPS: 6 CECs
NALP: 3 CECs
CAMT : 3 CECs
CAMTII: 3 CECs
CAS: 2 CECs
A minimum of one credit hour must be obtained by attending a program containing information on Fair Housing, Equal Employment Opportunities, or the Americans with Disabilities Act.
One half of the required CECs per renewal period must be attained by attending NAA or NAA affiliate courses, seminars, programs or activities, including:
Serving on or chairing NAA or NAA affiliate boards and committees.
Volunteering to instruct NAA affiliate members, designation candidates and designates, if the trainer/instructor is not a professional trainer who is compensated for this training.
CAMT teaching assistants are considered volunteer instructors.
Serving as a volunteer grader, assigned by NAA to grade designation projects.

So that the National Apartment Association can maintain records and information within their system, it is required of all designates to pay annual renewal fees. Invoices from NAA are submitted to all designates in January with payment required by February 28. Annual renewal fees are listed below by designation. Individuals holding multiple designations will be required to pay multiple renewal fees.

NALP: $35
Reinstatement fee for expired designations: $50.00
