Who We Are


The Houston Apartment Association is a professional trade association whose membership represents a broad cross-section of the Houston apartment industry. Members include apartment owner-operators, builders-developers, management companies, and product and service businesses that serve the industry. A nonprofit association, the HAA is the largest and most progressive apartment association in the country.

Strength in Numbers

HAA's 800 owner/management members and 680 product and service supplier members represent more than 467,000 apartment homes in more than 2,200 apartment communities, or more than 90 percent of Houston area apartments.

As a trade association, HAA is dedicated to promoting professionalism in the apartment industry. HAA seeks for membership only those companies that will perpetuate integrity in a field devoted to providing quality living for Houston apartment residents. All HAA members must agree to abide by the association's code of ethics as a condition of membership.

State and National Affiliations

HAA members were instrumental in forming the state and national associations, the Texas Apartment Association and the National Apartment Association. Because many regional and national apartment management firms have a major presence or are based in Houston, the HAA and its members continue to be active in TAA, NAA and the National Multi Housing Council in dealing with the issues and trends that affect the apartment industry locally and across the nation.
