
Program Objective: To enhance the skills of the apartment leasing professional, resulting in better-informed, highly professional individuals with increased lease activity and improved resident relations.
Course Registration and Fees
Check-in and registration is from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Course is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Program Cost and Enrollment Options
Total Program Cost: $325 for members; $425 for non-members; fee includes complete curriculum textbook
Individual modules may be taken as stand-alone seminars at $65 each (modular curriculum provided for each class)
Exams and Presentation
A proctored, closed-book, online exam is conducted at the conclusion of the coursework; exam dates will be released to students on the first day of class.
Students are also required to complete a Market Survey Presentation to receive the NALP designation. Information on the presentation will be given to students on the first day of class.
Designation Requirements
To qualify for the NALP program, candidates must:
- have worked in the apartment industry for six months
- complete all 7 NALP courses
- complete the Market Survey Project and Presentation, which requires candidates to demonstrate professional-level written and verbal communication skills in English and submit accurately completed paperwork
- receive a passing grade of at least 70 percent on the comprehensive exam
Students who complete the requirements will receive a national certificate and pin. Designation maintenance requires completion and submission of continuing education (CE) credits and dues to the National Apartment Association. Candidates are allowed one year from the date of application to meet all program requirements. If the requirements are not met in the time allotted, an extension fee of $50 must be paid to the National Apartment Association to extend candidacy for one year.
