Construction Scheduled for Three Capital Improvement Plan Projects in Houston Parks
The following announcement was received from the City of Houston's Parks and Recreation Department.
"The Houston Parks and Recreation Department is beginning three Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) projects to enhance enjoyment at each of the following three parks.
Construction will begin in Marian Park, 11000 S. Gessner, 77071, on a new sprayground on August 17, 2010. Completion is anticipated in February 2011. Scope of work includes: new water playground, front entry plaza paving, additional parking, landscape and irrigation, site grading and drainage, trellis and awnings and some painting and power washing around the community center.
Construction will begin at the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center, 1475 West Gray, 77019, on August 23, 2010, with completion anticipated in December 2010. Scope of work includes: new looping sidewalk, picnic tables, benches, drinking fountain, site grading and drainage and kiosk.
Construction will begin at Stuebner-Airline Park, 9201 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, 77088, on August 23, 2010, with completion anticipated in April 2011. Scope of work includes: site clearing and utilities, new playground and swings, water playground, picnic pavilion, entry drive and parking lot, concrete walks, security lighting, new benches and picnic tables and tree planting.
When completed, these projects, together with others already underway and some in the planning stages, will improve the park experience for Houstonians across the city.
