This story on Channel 11, KHOU reminded us of the giveaways and commercials that used to be common among apartment communities.
Take a look at the then, fancy VCR that Colonial House was giving away to new renters.
That was during the days when properties could limit their residents to only individuals or couples without children. We've a long way since then. Now, renters may not be discriminated against for having children under the age of 18. Check out HUD's information on Fair Housing.
