2010 Market Outlook and Industry Trends, hosted by HAA on February 17, was an opportunity to hear an analysis of current and future multifamily market conditions in the greater Houston area.

Market Outlook Panel    Market Outlook Audience

The panel consisted of 4 great industry experts:

·         Bill Gilmer, Vice President in Charge - El Paso Branch, Federal Reserve Bank Dallas

·         Stacy Hunt, Executive Director, Greystar

·         Bruce McClenny, President, Apartment Data Services

·         Scott Galloway, Executive Managing Director, Holliday Fenoglio Fowler

Some of the topics discussed included the state of the capital markets, apartment occupancies, rental rates, foreclosures, new developments and the outlook for the Houston economy. Houston received nothing but positive feedback from our panel.  The Texas consumer is in a much better position, said Bill Girlmer, than the rest of the country. Houston is looking good with 4300 units under construction and 5,000 to 6,000 coming in 2010. It is obvious that we are on a growth track, which added 25,000 to 40,000 jobs this year.

Stacy Hunt couldn't of said it better, "2010 looks real good."
