Please see this letter from the City of Lake Jackson regarding the proposed changes to the city's ordinance regarding apartments.
This matter will be taken up at the City Council Meeting on
March 21, 2011 at 6:30pm at Lake Jackson City Hall (25 Oak Drive, Lake Jackson, TX 77566).

This week HAA and other representatives of the apartment industry will be meeting with Lake Jackson city officials to discuss changes in a proposed apartment ordinance. Below is a summary of the new apartment ordinance proposal...
ORDINANCE NO. 11-
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 BUILDINGS OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LAKE JACKSON, TEXAS,
TO IMPOSE STRICTER REGULATIONS FOR APARTMENTS FOR
ITEMS SUCH AS HABITABLE UNITS, VENTILATION, HEATING,
AND INSPECTIONS; PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH SHALL
BE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF THE CONFLICT ONLY;
PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
